2002 Draft Summits: South side

6/10/2002:
Below is the third DRAFT of a Summit list for the Summits on the South side of Everest.
Note, it appears 61 climbers reached the Summit on May
16th, rather than the 54, or 55 the wire services reported
this year. [The wire service reports
have been horrible this year... Where do they get this
stuff??? The negative being the reports are carried by
most major newspapers, repeating over and
over the errors!!!]
Note:
DRAFT LIST! Why? These are REPORTED Summits, Everest
is never that simple! Some
of the Summits on the 25th have not been issued by the
Ministry of Tourism in Nepal, the official reason have
not been given. Hopefully, the bit of controversy
surrounding the summits on the 25th will soon be
resolved...
Sometime, years later Summits are removed... So it is
with mountaineering Summits....
