Everest Summiters
Andres Delgado and Alfonso de
la Parra have now been declared officially missing. The Indian Mountaneering
Federation is calling off all searches in Changabang area due to bad weather,
although the official permit issued by the Indian government expires on the
10th. Due to legal issues the the climbers can't be pronounced dead as the
bodies have not been found...
Andres Delgado and Alfonso de
la Parra need a Miracle...
The families apparently are
also facing HUGE bills for the search...
Our hopes and prayers go out the climbers and families...
Earlier update:
Andres Delgado along with Alfonso de
la Parra suffered some kind of accident while climbing Changabang. Details are
very thin and we are told that several items in the news reported by others
are incorrect.
Here is what we are told is known: They summited Changabang on
October 12th and were descending. They decided to switch routes as theirs has
become very dangerous due to heavy snowfalls. They called back home on their
global satellite phone ... They have not been heard from since...
The news so far is bleak and bad...
Carlos Carsolio is coordinating the
rescue attempt from Mexico...
Our hopes and prayers go out the climbers and families...
