Hey there friends, family and loved ones this is Team We’ll Cho Oyu calling in
from Camp 1, 21,000 feet high on the flanks of Mt. Cho Oyu. We woke up this
morning and had to scrap and inch and a half of snow off the solar panels just
so that we could stay in good communication. Everybody packed up and was ready
to go before the appointed hour of 10:00 so that we could make our way to Camp
1. Everybody maintained a steady, slow pace and we were able to get here and
have people still giggling when we arrived, which indicates that we are
acclimatizing well. Lhakpa whipped out a dinner of Indian curried lentils and
cheese naan that just knocked everybody’s socks off. Then we had hot drinks
all the way around. We are just getting ready to lie down and put in a lot of
sleep. Our goal tomorrow is for everyone to wake up chipper and fully
oxygenated, for our task tomorrow will be to go to Camp 2. So stayed tuned to
the further adventures of Team We’ll Cho Oyu.
