Alpine Ascents Cho Oyu Autumn 2006: Summits!

Team We'll Cho-Oyu Says Goodbye: This will conclude our  cybercast from "Team We'll Cho-Oyu". We ran the gaunlet of immigrations and customs and two border towns to gain access to Nepal.

It's great to be back from the land of rock and ice and into the deep greens of fertile valleys ripe with a bumper crop of rice. Roads from the high Himal are in ruins from all of the flooding that was caused by the same storm that dropped so much snow on us over a week ago. Hot copious showers were followed by a massive celebration dinner in Katmandu with our "Can Do Sherpa Crew".

We owe a lot of our success to our Sherpa team as well as accurate weather from Michael Fagin. Luck with the weather was also a factor...another few bad days of snow and we may not have stood on top. However, that's the great thing about mountaineering, you never know until you give it your best shot. We did and we were up to the challenge.

Thanks, so much for joining with us in our attempt to ascend the 6th highest mountain on earth. We all had a good time.

Namaste and good night from our expedition. Vern Tejas
