 Zsolt
Eross Summits Dhaulagiri
|
 |
 |
On the 24th of May Zsolt Eross, Laszlo Mecs, Gabor Babcsan and Anita Ugyan
went up to C1 and on the 25th to C2. The very same night Eross, Mecs and Ugyan
went up towards to C3 (7200 m) with the intention to go all the way to the
summit. They reached the location of C3 only in the morning due to deep snow
conditions. At C3 they had no tents and the team didn’t bring any cooking ware
with themselves since this was their summit bid. Unfortunately their process
during the night was much slower than they expected it. Due to these
circumstances Mecs and Ugyan turned back, but Eross stayed for the day and
waited for the snow to freeze. He started his summit bid on the 26th at 9 pm.
Next day (27th of May) at 11:21 am Zsolt Eross reached the summit of
Dhaulagiri and by 5 pm (after 20 hours continuous climb) he was safely down at
C2.
The whole team arrived home to Budapest safe and sound on
the 8th of June.
Expedition leader: Lajos Kollár

Babcsán, László Mécs and Szabolcs Szendrő.
