Camping Base of the Dhaulagiri, 18 of October of 2006 Thus it is loved
friends, the winds of the Dhaula cause that it gives by finished my expedition
and with it I finalize my objectives of this year 2006 that, in spite of this
new misfortune, definitively has been wonderful.
It is over. Hours ago Sete and Ivan finished arriving at
base camp from C2 with great difficulty due to terrible conditions of the
snow. According to the plan, Monday 16 they left to go up, and with great
surprise when arriving at the broken and disturbed glacier by which, they had
to cross the ice valley that leads to the C1. There was a section that seemed
to Ivan extremely dangerous. It took them twenty minutes solve that section,
then everything was a total disorder, they did not know by where to follow and
each step that they came to over the blocks they were concerned the blocks
would fall. After getting across they found heavy snow and the wind picked
up... Time to go home... More later..
