HiMountain Nanga Parbat Winter
Expedition 2006/2007
Update:
We would like to wish all the
best in the New Year to our friends, readers and mountaineers.
Himountain Nanga Parbat Winter Expedition Team.
On the New Year’s Eve, the team consisting of Artur Hajzer (Himountain Team),
Jacek Jawień and Darek Załuski left the Base and went up in order to build
Camp 3. The weather was quite good.
On the New Year, they reached Camp 2. Unfortunately, the wind on the ridge was
too strong. Now, despite difficult weather conditions, they are preparing a
bypass of the Wielicki Spur. They are leading a variant route on the right
side of the Wielicki Spur. This would make the approach to Camp 2 faster and
easier. As a result HAPs will probably be able to reach C2 with their cargo
and return for night to C1. Today, the team is intending to climb in the
direction of the depot left by Krzysztof Wielicki (Himountain Team) and his
team. They also want to start fixing ropes to Camp 3. Unfortunately, the wind
is very strong.
