1st dispatch from Wilco: Preparations on full speed, close to departure.
Rex, Ron and Wilco are very busy with the preparations for the expedition.
A lot of things have to be arranged. They receive all the expedition gear
slowly but surely. The gear has to be packed in barrels for shipping to
Kathmandu. DHL will send the cargo by plane on March 15th.
Exercising: The boys have to make time to keep exercising. Everyone in his
own way: cycling or running and there is even time to try the brand new
paraglider.
The preparations with the sponsors also take a lot of time. There is still
a lot of discussion about the sponsored gear. The computer equipment has to be
installed. The video satellite communication equipment has to be tested. All
sponsors will gather on Monday in the Hague to resolve the pending issues.
Weather forecast: We are planning to have a weather forecast every time we
send a message. We will have the wind speed in meters per second and the
temperature for the summit of Mount Everest
We leave for Kathmandu on Thursday March 25th Wilco
