Bhumiputras (Malaysians) to Climb Mount Everest in 2004 

	After the successful climbing of Everest in 1997 Malaysians are now gearing up to put another Expedition on Mount Everest Summit in Spring season of 2004. This time however the theme and objective is different; they want to put two Bhumiputras, (Son of the Malaysian Soil), a favorite theme always cherished by Mohammad Mahathir, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The Bhumiputras Everest team will be led by Muhamad Fauzan Haji Hassan, a man already well familiarized with Mount Everest. Mr. Fauzan has climbed Everest up 22,000 feet and over, followed by several Trekking Expeditions to the Base Camp of the Everest. 

The Bhumiputras Everest Team comprises two student climbers at present: Ahmad Reduan Rozali, 21 student of Applied Science and Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin, 21 Student of Sports Science at Mara University of Technology.  Both these climbers are going through rigorous training overseas at present in what is known as Pre-Everest Preparation. 

Right Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mohammad Mahathir is the patron of this First Ever Bhumiputra Expedition to Mount Everest in 2004 organized as National Expedition of Malaysia, according Fauzan, the Leader of the Expedition.
