Pierson: Murph goes to K2: The best K2 video on the planet:
VHS or
DVD |
Update: The Kazakhstan Expedition appears
to have moved out in front. After just arriving at K2, the team is climbing up
to Camp 3. They said the way to camp 2 "was easy." Others are camp 2 including
2 Japanese climbers and others at camp 1.
Mick Parker is at Camp 2 helping
others...
But the big news is the weather as always
on K2:
High Winds from NW are expected
the next 2 days. Today was a bad day for K2/G1/G2 due a sudden development,
but it is improving now (prevailing clouds are leaving the area), Saturday
will be almost OK with some clouds development at evening/afternoon but no
severe disturbance expected; Almost clear weather on Sunday, but upper winds
are expected to increase gradually due to a coming westerly wave, which is
likely to approach on Sunday evening and therefore coming 3 days (Sanday-Evening
to Tuesday-Evening) will be hard/bad for K2/G1/G2.
So
the concern will get getting down IF one reaches the summit. Unstable
conditions, one must be very strong and fast..
