Dear EverestNews.com, This is Maximo Kausch, from Everest Base camp writing for SummitClimb.  We are all fine here in base camp at 5300 m, most of the climbers have already made their respective trips to the higher altitude camps.  Up to 6400 m, all the resources are ready.  For the moment, almost everybody rests in base camp, after 5 days in the higher altitudes.  After 5 days of storms, there is a lot of snow on the face of Lhotse and that is going to let future excursions to gain altitude easily.  The Khumbu glacier is not a great challenge for everybody anymore, and the trail between camp 2 and camp 3 is more difficult.  We think that the group to the Lhotse will be the first to get to the summit in the second week of May.  A few other expeditions are working on fixing the lines above the South Col, which gives us more time to think about the Lhotse climb.  The team who goes to Everest is acclimatizing well and the Sherpas are stronger every day.  We hope the weather improves from the beginning of next week.  The Portuguese tem is going fine and they have already carried their load to 6400 m.  Joao Garcia injured his left shoulder while climbing the Khumbu, but he is recovering fast. 

We are all celebrating the Jewish day of "Passover", with the help of Eyal Wigderson, we all had wine at -10ºC at 5300.
