  SummitClimb Pumori 2005: Dispatch Two

Dan Mazur and Lahkpa Sherpa just below the crux of the route.

Dear EverestNews.com readers,

We've enjoyed another peaceful day in Kathmandu whilst we prepare for our expedition. Our food has arrived on schedule - all 1.2 tones of it! It was delivered by rickshaw. Imagine a stream of endless rickshaws stretching down the street as far as you can see... It's really quite comical - and that's the scene we were confronted with at 11.00 this morning!

This afternoon and this evening, we were very happy to meet the latest additions to our team:

Daniel Mazur - USA Expedition Leader.

Tunc Findik - Turkey Leader in Training

Steve Joll - USA.

Reinhold Loos - Germany.

Bill Pollock - USA Trekker.

Daniel Stenberg - Finland and Sweden.

Ulroy Hansen - Norway.

John Fawcett - UK England. John summited Ama Dablam with us in 2003!

Edwin Ludlow - UK England.

The Leaders in Training had quite a full day of activities yesterday! Please read the Leaderintraining dispatch for details!

We all enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the Roadhouse Restaurant, where some members got their first taste of spicy Nepali food!  We also were happy to meet with David Wallace from Australia and his wife Rashma. David and Rashma are old friends. David was one of our Summitclimb Leaders. He's now retired from guiding, but not from climbing! He still performs hard ascents here in Nepal.

Tomorrow, our expedition starts in earnest, with the arrival of the

remaining members and our official expedition dinner. More news soon! Thank you for following our expedition!

From Jay Reilly and all of us at Summitclimb.com
