Ascents Cho Oyu 2005: We’re on our way… up again that is
September 12- ABC
We’re on our
way… up again that is. This morning we are off for another acclimatization
trip. This evening we’ll be spending another night at Camp I and then most
likely a second night. Wednesday night the 14th we’ll be spending a night in
Camp II and then on Thursday morning all the way back down. Depending on how
everyone is feeling and the weather we may add or subtract a day.
Unfortunately Don left us yesterday to go back to Kathmandu and then onwards
home. He was having a difficult time staying hydrated and therefore feeling up
to the physical task. We already are missing his wit and insight and it’s
unfortunate to not have him here with us any longer. We’ll definitely be
thinking of him up on the mountain. He left ABC in high spirits yesterday
morning with Lakpa. Lakpa will be arriving back in ABC today.
We will be sending in dispatches from the higher camps with updates from our
comical nights without much sleep! We’re sending along a picture of the route
with Camps I, II, and III shown as green dots.
