Earlier Report:
The report from the heart the
avalanche from the Iran expedition
It was 5:20 Am4 May 2005.
We the Iranian expedition to
Everest were in our tents in camp1. We heard sound 06 avalanche from east
side.
We opened the tent to see
that what happened but a great deal of snow came into our tent. It was a huge
avalanche from west side of Everest shoulder. After a few seconds the wind
stopped and we knew that other tents in C1 were in risk because our camp was
the last and far from avalanche center.
One of our members, Azim
ghaychisaz went toward C1 quickly and he saw that all tents in C1 are
destroyed.
He returned to Iranian camp
and asked us to help. He and Jalal Cheshmehghasabani, Dr. Mahmoud Goodarzi
went quickly to help them. The nearest camp belonged to
Summit Climb group. There were two men
one Sherpa and one member injured. Their tents were destroyed completely
and they were out of their tents. We found a tent that was usable and made it
for two injured men, and carried them in to tent.
Dr. Goudarzi visited them.
They did not have life threatening problems. We contacted to Base camp and
asked from our leader to going to summit climb camp and inform them for
helping their members. Our leader sent message to that camp and inform them.
And our group left toward C2 with thanks from God for our health. We are in
base camp now and waiting for good weather to climb.
