Update: Sergey Kaimanchikov, expedition member, and Alexander Abramov expedition leader of the Russian Everest commercial expedition were the two climbers involved in the incident. Sergey Kaimanchikov is still in the Birendra Hospital in Chhauni. Sergey Kaymachnirkow was a member of Alexander Abramov's Russian Everest Team in 2003.

Alexander Abramov has lead Russian commercial expeditions to Everest the last 2 years, and summited in 2004. The team hires Asian Trekking for support and Sherpas... The team decided to go overland while the Maoists strike had a road blockage until Tuesday....

We e-mailed the team on Saturday, but we had not gotten a reply yet. Part of the team is already at base camp.
