Huss will make his fourth attempt to reach the summit of Mount Everest this
April. He will serve as the expedition doctor for a group of five Americans.
Chuck is a 55 year old doctor who works at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He has
been climbing for over 20 years and made his first attempt to ascend Everest
in 1998. His second attempt was in 2000 and his third was in 2003. On all
attempts Chuck was turned back due to illness and injury brought on by harsh
climatic conditions and most recently, food poisoning. In 2003 Charlie
Wittmack became the first Iowan to summit Everest.
