Camp II 6400m: Well today
was a new day and it's been a beautiful one. We're all here in CII and
the sun is just beginning to drop quickly on the horizon. There was a
lot of activity on the route between CI and CII today. Dozens of
Sherpa were out carrying loads from BC to CII as well as a few
climbers ascending to CII then back to CI. We appear to be the only
climbers in CII tonight though many camps are busy with Sherpa readying for
incoming teams.
The group feels very good
this afternoon- better than expected- and better than they did
yesterday on the acclimatization move. So that's a good thing!
Hopefully the sleeping will go well also. Ang Tshering and Chuldim are
here cooking for us and the camp is spectacular especially on a day like
today. Everyone's relishing the first views of the SW Face and Lhotse
Face here at 21,000+ feet in the Cwm.
We'll be in touch soon.
All the best,
Dave
