Location: Lukla
Altitude: 2830m
Local Time: 17:45, May 28
Weather: Overcast all day with on and off drizzle.
Hi All, It's Paul here coming
to you from Lukla. Today has been a really long day, walking from Namche to
Lukla and the three of us are pretty tired. We've walked from 8am, and have
just arrived here at 17:00, with only an hour of rest. Although most of it was
downhill, it's hard going on your knees. Much of it is rock, which was quite
slippery too, especially in the rain.
We met a few people,
including our camp 2 cook, Mingma, who had fallen victim to the terrain. We
gave him Ibuprofen, and he was most grateful.
Flights delayed
We heard that no flights have gone from Lukla for the past few days due to bad
weather from the oncoming monsoon, although some went this morning. We are
really hoping that our flight isn't delayed and we can get to Kathmandu
tomorrow.
Looking forward to a quick
dinner, a good sleep tonight and a shower in Kathmandu, Paul.
