moved up to around 7500 meters, still a very long dangerous way to go....
Update: The Spanish are said
to be on the move again, details are VERY thin, Avalanche risk is VERY high...
Stay tuned....
Earlier Update: The Spanish have arrived at Everest after climbing
some small peaks. They plan an Alpine style attempt on the summit via the Hornbein. They are expected to start
moving up soon....
Background: Alberto Inurrategui will attempt to climb
Everest alpine style, along with Juan Vallejo and Ferran Latorre. They will
take the Hornbein Corridor. They should have installed their Base Camp around
August 26 and their summit bid will be in the middle of September.
Jon Beloki, who has been Alberto’s
partner all the time is not motivated for this feat and decided not to go.
They have been together in their previous Al Filo de lo Imposible (At the
Edge of the Impossible) expeditions, which films documentaries for TVE (Spain
TV). Their last expedition together was to Shivling, last May.....
