As per the report of Liason Officer from the base camp and the handling
trekking agency, two members permanent residents of South Korea, Mr. Hee Joon
Oh (37 yrs) and Mr. Hyun Jo Lee (34 yrs), of "2007 Park's Everest South West
Face Expedition 2007" team died by falling down from 8300 metres during their
accent to Mt. Everest (8848 meters) on 16 May, 2007 at 2:00 a.m.
The above mentioned expedition team comprising of 7 members
was permitted to climb 8848m. high Mt. Everest from South West Face for the
period of 75 days from 2 April, 2007 under the leadership of Mr. Park Young
Seok of South Korea.
The handling agency of the expedition team is NE-KO Treks &
Expedition Pvt. Ltd. Kathmandu, Nepal.
This Ministry expresses deep sorrow for their untimely
demise of life.
