Dale
Abenojar |
Again in 2007 we will have an expedition from the the
Philippines. This year the expedition(s) include women climbers attempting to
be the first Philippine woman to summit Everest. Three Filipinas are planned
to attempt to add to last year where the men summited.
Of course, who the "first" man from the Philippines has
never been settled. Dale Abenojar claimed he was first. Dale stated he
summited on MAY 15th, 2006, which means he was one of the climbers who walked
by a dieing David Sharp on the way up...
Dale claimed a witness and a claim of a "summit picture",
but never produced a "summit picture" to EverestNews.com, nor would he answer
questions about David Sharp or his climb.
Heavily sponsored Heracleo "Leo" Oracion claimed the first
Everest summit by the Filipino, followed by Erwin "Pastor" Emata and then
Romeo Garduce, a member of the University of the Philippines... FPMEE was
backed by ABS-CBN media network while Garduce was backed by rival GMA-7.
Details shown below as reported
So let's hope the spectacle of 2007 is not
repeated.
This year's climbs are being called “the Unity Climb,” as
they try to summit both sides of the mountain at the same time.... Leo Oracion
and Erwin “Pastor” Emata will return as expedition leaders...
No word on if Dale Abenojar will attempt to "summit"
again.... Based on Dale's failure to address EverestNews.com questions; Dale
did not make the EverestNews.com summit list in 2007 as it is hard to add
someone to a summit list when they will not answer simple questions....
