International Mountain Guides, based in
Ashford, Washington will have two Everest Expeditions for 2003. This marks
the eleven and twelfth expeditions that IMG has organized to the Everest since
1991. Every year is different on Mt. Everest, and 2003 is no exception.
There is no such thing as a "cookie cutter" expedition. For 2003 we have two
very different trips:
The South Side climb, led by
longtime IMG guide and multiple Everest summiter Dave Hahn, is a private
guided expedition. IMG is doing the logistics and Dave and his two assistant
guides, Ben Marshall and Tap Richards, are working directly for the three
climbers. On the North Side, IMG is doing the logistics for a three person
non-guided climb, led by longtime IMG guide and Everest summiter Craig John.
Additionally, IMG is conducting two non-summit guided climbing programs, one
going as high as 8000 meters, led by guide Chris Booher, and another to the
North Col, led by guides Mark Tucker and Mike Hamill. Eric Simonson is working
with North Side groups, and additionally will be leading a group of trekkers
that are going to the 21,500 foot Advanced Base Camp.
