Tents (camp 1) North Col ©EverestNews.com

Update: The team is back home. No Summits, no deaths but a lot of hard work! "On the second attack Xavi arrived until 8500mt before turn back due to some problems with feet fingers-no frozen but bad sensations in this- this was on 21 May, me [Agustí Torrents] on 20th arrived in the afternoon to 8000mts aprox,on my way to camp 3 but I was going alone and bad weather was on at this time, wind, snow and frog, so I decided to turn back."

THURSDAY, MAY 26, 2005 - PREPARING TO RETURN -

Today has been the last day in Katmandu, a day with a lot of work.  In the morning we prepared the drums that have come with us and during the afternoon we waited for the drums that were still in Base Camp because of the rushing departure due to Xavi.  It is a lot of work that takes a lot of time, we have all found time to visit the surprising Bouddhanath.  The colors of the prayers flags, the music and the atmosphere have been useful to relax in this busy day.  Knowing that tomorrow we will take the plane to start the trip back home make us a little nervous, on one hand because we've been away for a lot of time and we want to go back, on the other hand it is sad to leave the Himalayas.  With no other news, we say goodbye to you.  Maybe tomorrow we will write the last chronicle from Katmandu, before going to the airport.

Good night and Namaste!
