Update May 31st 2005: Ok here is a run down... Maybe
somewhere around 124 climbers left to attempt over the next 5 or 6 days. We
have NO confirmed Summit pushes last night (don't believe the...). The
wind was high and there was problems up there, which tends to slow climbers
First those at high camp
George and Lakpa:
(They don't need last names!) We believe they waited at high camp last night
and did not go for it. They have the "spider" with them... George is going for
7, Lakpa her 5th!
Seven Summits Club,
better known on the mountain as the Russians: at are at high camp. They had
their Sherpas wait at high camp in case they are needed. But the Sherpas are
now getting some time in there. Did they go last night? We don't know,
however, the money is on that they stayed...
Everest 2005: Martin Minarik: Chess by himself? is at high camp or
higher as we speak..
British Commercial Team: Went from camp 1 all the way to
camp 3 and met the wind!! (Maybe they should have stayed with Brice at camp
Others at high camp, include several of the Asian trekking
group of independent climbers. No Lakpa is not setting up tents for them and
George is not guiding them (An inside try at a joke!)...
