Update:
Hello EverestNews.com, ABC
(6400 m) May 15th 9.20 AM: Four days ago all of us are in ABC and we are
waiting for final upsurge. Meanwhile, I have arrangement with climbers
and Sherpas conception (scheme) of rise and return. Each member of
our team know exactly what for is his responsibility and when (and why)
anybody can change decisions.
All
of us are restless (eager) waiting the sky open his gate to our target.
We decided to start up yesterday (May 14th) because Friday (13th) was
promised. But night between Friday and Saturday changed all. So our climbers
stayed at camp. Some of restless members of the others teams came back from
high camps during. Some of them had serious chilblains. We have had lucky
because we won't to hurry. All of us are well, climbers especially. We were
together in many difficult days and we are together now, too. We hope it will
be good at all at the end. Best wishes to all people in Serbia (and rest the
World, too) who is asking and concern with our expedition.
Mico
Jovoic, leader of Vojvodinian team "Everest 2005"
Dispatches
Vojvodina is the northern
province of Serbia and Montenegro. It is located in the heart of the Balkans
in Southeast Europe. Although Vojvodina is flat, climbing has become a
tradition. The first Vojvodina climber to scale Mont Blanc was in 1924, since
then they have reached the summits of the highest peaks in South America,
Asia, Europe and Australia. The only peak they are missing is Everest and they
hope to climb to the summit in 2005.
The expedition is being
organized by the Mountaineering Association of Vojvodina. The members of the
team are as follows, Miodrag Jovovic, Milivoj Erdeljan, Goran Ferlan, Andor
Luhovic, Mirjana Vasut, Mirjana Stevanovic, Iso Planic and Hoselito Bite.
