Gavin's dispatches, when he was on Everest
before, was voted the best dispatches of the season by you, our readers of
EverestNews.com. For those of you who are new, now you know why.
After a good few days R&R at Deboche - a Nepalese village
some hours trek down from Base Camp - Gavin is now back at Gorak Shep. The
weather is good where he is, and - as always - he is feeling good. No summits
yet apparently ... the weather up top hasn't been so great. Gav is now waiting
for some of the big teams to go for the top so he can follow in their
footsteps. As he won't have oxygen he will be going much slower and doesn't
want to hold people up at crowded times. He expects to start heading up the
hill in the next few days or so ...
