  Mt. Everest 2005 Exclusive: Mr Honda at Camp 4 at midnight and planning to head to the Summit of Mt Everest

Update 5/21/2005 1.41 AM (in America): We are waiting on the news if he left for the summit or stayed at the South Col...

Update 5/21/2005: A group of the Korean attempted the summit! We are told they have turned back around the balcony. (The ropes also end around the Balcony). We have no idea why they turned around, nor can we confirm at this time that they all turned around. It is unknown at this time if others attempted with them.

However, Mr Honda has arrived at Camp 4 at midnight. Other Koreans are said to have arrived at Camp 4 at around 11pm (on the 20th). Unclear if any of these climbers attempted or if they stayed at camp 4.

Update 5/19/2005: The Team Honda already departed to Camp 3 from Camp 2 this morning. (Note Team Honda has a camp 5!)

Update 5/18/2005: Team Honda Everest 2005 - New plans for summit on 22nd May.

21st May 21:00 PM start for summit from C5 and back for C4

And in this morning, all of the Sherpa team going up to C2 they will join and join with the Team Honda around afternoon.

Update 5/11/2005: Due to the strong wind they postponed the summit date as follows. Now, their summit date is on 20th May.

5-20: C5 to Summit and back to C4

5-21: C4 to C2

Japanese team "Team Honda Everest 2005" led by Mr Michihiro Honda (66) departed to Everest Base camp on 23 March. A three members team is permitted to climb Mt. Everest from normal route. During their expedition they will set up camp V near balcony and supposed to attempt the top of the world around mid of May 2005.

A team member Mr Shigeki IMOTO, who have already made a successful attempt from the difficult route North-East ridge in 11 May 1995.
