Update: June 1: Robert
and Edwin arrived at Camp 4 on May 31 in about 6 hours. They were feeling
strong and pleased with their timing.
After a few
hours' rest, they were planning to head for the summit at about 8pm. But the
winds were blowing hard throughout the day. And by 8pm, when the guys were
preparing to set off, the winds were whipping at 60 - 70 knots, gusting at
about 80 knots. They decided to cancel their summit bid and wait a day at Camp
4.
This
morning, Robert was feeling weak from having spent two nights at Camp 2 and
two nights at South Col. He decided to abandon his summit bid and descend.
Fortunately, Edwin is feeling good and strong. He will remain at Camp 4.
Tonight, if the winds are milder, he would make a summit bid.
Update: Mt. Everest 2005:
The
Singapore Premier Taxi Everest Expedition without oxygen:
Update: Robert and Edwin are at camp 4 at the South Col. We have no
information that they left last night. It is believed they stayed there, but
that is NOT confirmed.
