The South
Face at sunset |
Day 50 –
8th of May: Good morning this is mBank Lotto Annapurna South Face Expedition.
This is Piotr Pustelnik, welcome from the BC. Yesterday our working group,
after almost nine days, came back to the BC. We have settled the Camp II, two
good equipped tents, on the altitude of 6900 m in a very safe place under
serac. We have put the fix ropes also to the place which sir Bonington
described as the most difficult place on the route. I have to admit that after
these nine days when we put two kilometres of fix ropes, we feel a little
tired. During next two or three days we will rest. The weather didn’t favor
us, but we did it. We are very pleased to have the Camp II so high and so well
equipped. I think that next time we leave the Camp II, we will try to reach
the summit. Good bye, Piotr Pustelnik
Dispatches
| Piotr Pustelnik will lead
a group of veteran climbers to attempt to summit Annapurna in Spring 2005.
After Annapurna he is considering Broad Peak "via normale but I still
think about this unclimbed ridge starting near Concordia." We have covered
Piotr numerous times including
Annapurna 2004.
