Inaki Ochoa de Olza arrives
at Dhaulagiri Base Camp
|
 |
 |
Iñaki
Ochoa de Olza, from the Lorpen-Diario de Navarra expedition, has arrived today
16th of April to the Base Camp of Dhaulagiri (8.167 meters) among with German
climber Peter Guggemos, to attempt the northeast ridge of the mountain,
obviously without oxygen and Sherpas. Ochoa de Olza, with nine 8+ meters
summits, has located the base camp at 4.650 meters, "200 meters below than two
years ago", when he attempted the mountain for the first time (he returned
from 7.700 due to avalanche risk). This time, he will share the climb with the
mentioned Guggemos and the Italians Luca Vuerich, Romano Benet and Nives Meroi,
among others.
Nevertheless, he will try to
made and express summit since base camp to summit.
