Arlene Blum uses her climbing accomplishments to help motivate people around the world through her lectures and workshops. Arlene has been a part of over 20 successful mountaineering expeditions. She has climbed Everest, Mt. McKinley and led the first American climb up Annapurna. She has also made a 2,000mile trek across the Himalayan Mountains. These accomplishments along with her education and research background make her a sought after keynote and motivational speaker as well as corporate team builder and intercultural training expert.

Arlene has a doctorate in biophysical chemistry and has taught at Stanford, Wellesley and Berkeley. Her research has helped to ban cancer- causing chemicals. Dr. Blum has won numerous awards, including a Gold Medal from the Society of Women Geographers. Her articles and photography have been featured in many publications including the Smithsonian, National Geographic and Science Magazine.

Her motivational lectures and leadership workshops are highly acclaimed. Her seminars focus on helping participants discover their own leadership skills and team building abilities. She achieves these goals by having students define and communicate their vision for the future, they learn to lead more effectively in times of change, she helps students to identify their own leadership strengths and weaknesses, shows how to build more productive teams and helps to teach people how to enjoy themselves while working hard. Dr. Blumís lectures include topics such as, Climbing Your Own Everest: Leadership and Teamwork, High Places Around the World, The Great Himalayan Traverse, Travel and Trekking in the Himalayas, Australia: The Great Barrier Reef, Women in High Places, Damsels on Denali and Across the Alps with Baby.
