The Sherpas of Everest Series: Sonam Tshering Sherpa

Sonam Tshering Sherpa summited Everest 5 times all via the standard South East Ridge route. He was from Beding, Dolkha. His first summit was on September 26th, 1988 while on the French expedition led by Francois Poissonnier. Second, on May 10, 1989 without the use of bottled oxygen! Next on May 12th, 1992 on the Rob Hall led expedition. again in 1992, on October 4th. His fifth summit was on April 22nd, 1993. Sadly Sonam Tshering Sherpa  died on the way down with Pasang Lhamu Sherpa (the first Nepalese woman) to summit when a storm moved onto Everest trapping the climbers on the South Summit...
