More from the Mallory and Irvine Team 2005
Oh, how did it go you asked? We should add, the
normal route is littered with gloves, headlamps and bodies. One climber lost
his crampon and was in trouble. A sherpa took a crampon off a dead climber and
puts the crampon on the climber so he can go down! A Sherpa got one guy down
at 11pm! Hello! Did someone say turn around!!! We hope the Sherpa does not
have frostbite. It will be interesting if that climber gives what is due to
the Sherpa. This is "Sherpa Mountain", make no mistake about it. The Sherpas
saved at least 12 lives this year. Stories you will probably never hear.
We return to Mount Everest in search of an answer.
