Two Austrian brothers Rainer Wolfgang Göschl(34 years) and Gerfried
Göschl(31 years) will try to summit Nanga Parbat in winter 2004. They will
start from Austria at the end of November attempting the Kinshofer Route.
They want to make a real Winter Climb, and plan to stay in Base camp until the
end of January.
In the last two years they have climbed Muztagh Ata (7546m, 11. July 2001),
Cho Oyu (8201m, 3.May 2002), Aconcagua (6962m, 26.January 2003). In the summer
of 2003 they tried a new route on Gasherbrum 2 but failed because of bad
weather and avalanche danger. On 4. July 2003 they summited on Normal Route,
BC summit BC in 3 days.
On Nanga Parbat they plan to fix many ropes, and maybe will climb with
Pakistani Hasil Shah (Summit of G2) and his uncle Merban Shah
