The all are explorers and
inspired by father of mountaineering in Hindukush Professor Arne Naess. They
are first time in Pakistan for a peak which hardly been climb since 1978 from
Pakistan side. Though there was a successful attempt made from its normal
route from Afghanistan by a peace expedition in 2001.
They were Glenn Seljaasen
leader, Steinar Haldorsen and David Baum organize by Jasmine Tours in
Pakistan.
They were in Pakistan for 44
days, but permit for Noshaq Peak was not ready after their arrival in
Pakistan. Which happened to many expedition during 2005 summer season.
This caused them 3 or more
days in Rawalpindi, Shortage of these few days are very crucial to any
mountaineering expedition, Value of these days comes when one is trying to
make final push for summit bid.
They were accompanied by
famous cook Nabi also a high altitude porter climb GII and reach K2 above
8000m, Sajjad as assistance and Captain Tahmoor Khurshid Khan as Army Liaison
Officer.
After arriving at Base camp
around 5000m they spent most of the time at high altitude reach 6600m as their
highest point.
While talking they mentioned
snow, lake of man supply and less information about the higher camps as result
of their failure. But they are very keen to return to this mountain one day
with a bigger team
