Update 8/06/2007:
Weather
ALERT K2, NP, GBI/II and Broad Peaks
Be careful on Monday; A good Window starting from Tue/Wed.
All climbers (especially for K2) are advised to remain very careful on Monday
as High Winds would cause snow/showers and poor visibility over/around all
main Peaks. The strong winds are likely to abate gradually from Tuesday, then
improving the weather.
A good window of 4 to 5 days (at least) will start on Tue/Wed. HANIF.
Update 8/04/2007: Weather for K2, NP, GBI/II and Broad
Peaks
Weather is much better, but Take care on Monday Evening.
The weather has improved suddenly but don’t take it 100 supportive as upper
winds are still very strong. Much of the day time on Sunday and Monday would
be better but take care on Monday evening/afternoon. HANIF.
The weather can change quickly be careful.
Update 8/02/2007:
Weather ALERT K2, NP, GBI/II and
Broad Peaks
Weather is Not advisable
especially for K2, Take care on Thu/Fri/Sat
100% Clear Weather is Not
possible in Next 4 Days (Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun) but some short interval windows (3
to 4 hourly) likely during first half of each day. K2 and adjoining Peaks are
expected to remain in the grip of very strong winds (speed nearly 100 knots,
direction SW) during Thursday evening to Friday evening. Climbers are advised
to be very careful on Friday as weather would be very bad due to SNOW over
peaks (west and south-west of K2) and poor visibility. Weather will start to
improve gradually from Sun/Mon giving a 3 days window. HANIF.
Update 7/30/2007: The prevailing weather (due to local
build-ups, as mentioned in previous report) is improving gradually, Tuesday
may be slightly better but likely to disturb again at evening/night. Climbers
are advised to remain CAREFUL on Wed/Thu as occasional Snow over all main
Peaks and showers in base-camps is expected on both days. While the upper
winds(+20,000 ft) are expected to remain very strong (near 100 knots, W/SW).
