The
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has granted permission to 17
teams for carrying out mountaineering expeditions on 11 different mountain
peaks starting from 25th August 2005. Three Mountaineering teams have been
given permission to climb Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m.), Three mountaineering
teams have been given permission to climb Mt. Tukuche (6920m.), Two
mountaineering teams have been given permission to climb Mt. Amadablam
(6812m.), and one team on each mountain have been given permission to climb
Mt. Annapurna (8091m.), Mt. Gyazikang (7038m.), Mt. Gyachung Kang (7952m.),
Mt. Janak (7090m.), Mt. P2 (6251m.), Mt. Pangbunk (6244m.), Mt. Putha (7246m.)
& Mt. Dhampus (6012m.).
These 17
teams are from 11 different countries, of which 4 teams are from Japan, 3
teams from Slovenia, 2 teams from Switzerland and 1 team each from Australia,
Canada, Holland, France, Russia, Slovakia, Spain and Ukraine.
