Silvio Mondinelli together with
Christian Gobbi, Mario Merelli. Mario Panzeri and Daniele Bernasconi by
helicopter from Kathmandu. On 18th March they reached Annapurna and
established BC at 4.200 meters. During this 15 days they have already set CI
at 5.000 meters and last week they reach 5,650 meters where they left all the
necessary equipment for CII. At the moment they have already put 500 meters of
ropes...
Tomorrow they
intention is to go up and stay on the wall for a while and try to set up CII
and CIII. They will also decide once higher which way to try.

Background
Silvio will go to Annapurna
around the 20 of March together with 4 Italian friends
(Mario Merelli, Christian Gobbi, Daniele Bernasconi, Mario Panzeri). They will
try on the North Face. After he will probably go with "Al filo de lo imposible"
team to Nanga Parbat.

Mondinelli, (1958), Mountain Guide, Alagna Valsesia, Italy reached the
Summit of Everest without Oxygen
on the 23rd May 2001. Since then he has added Summits of G1, G2 and
Dhaulagiri.
