A guided client, from an non-American group fell about 20
meters into a crevasse! The client landed on a snow bridge. Miraculously the
client was ok. It was reported he was alone and not clipped into the fixed
rope at the time... The client won't enter into the record books (as a death)
for now, and the event surely won't be reported by his commercial expedition.
Talking about not being reported, a lead guide of one of the
commercial expeditions on the north has apparently changed team during the
middle of the expedition and is now is guiding for a low budget team. Not
surprising in this case... It will be interesting if the wire services figure
this one out... We would bet it is highly unlikely they will.
