Quito, March 3, 2008 Dear friends: I have the enormous pleasure to invite you to the photo and video presentation of "ANNAPURNA, GODDESS OF ABUNDANCE", to share with you what it meant to reach that dangerous and demanding summit at 8,091 meters of altitude, last May 24. With this conquest I have reached my thirteenth summit of eight thousand meters or more in my DESAFIO 14 project. This audiovisual work is about the first ascent by a French expedition, guided by the famous Maurice Herzog. I will also show a little homage to Ramiro Navarrete, one of the best mountain climbers this country has had, who unfortunately died while descending precisely from the summit of Annapurna on October 1988. Finally, I will share the story of our own expeditions which took us to such degree of psychological pressure that from the ten who were trying to get to the summit, only three of us were left for the final assault. This work will be presented in March on Thursday 6 and Friday 7, in Auditorio de COLEGIO DE ARQUITECTOS DEL ECUADOR, located at Nuñez de Vela N 35-204 (diagonally opposite to Mi Juguetería), at 20h00.
