Broad Peak 2010: Broad Peak summits?

Several summits of Broad Peak are being reported. Most appear to be 'summits' of fore peaks and not the main summit. On Braod peak many like Shishapangma go to the foresummit and not the main summit and claim a summit. Some locals have told that the foresummit is higher and lead climbers only to the foresummit. However the main summit is the highest point without a doubt.

Reports: Alberto Inurrategi, Mikel Zabalza, and Juan Vallefo central summit turned back before the main summit

Slovakia climbers Tomas Rigoic and Dolezal: unclear

The local name of Broad peak is Faichan Kangri. The height of main peak is 8047 meters/26,401ft. It is called Broad Peak because of its breadth at the top. Broad Peak is one of the 8000 meters peaks which towers above the Concordia at the heart of the Karakorum range. It lies on the Pakistan/China frontier between K2 and the Gasherbrum peaks and was first climbed by four Austrians in 1957, including Kurt Diemberger and Herman Buhl.
