  18th National Skiing Championship at Naltar, Gilgit


The 18th National Skiing Championship will start from February 18 – 24, 2010 at Naltar and skiers from all over the country will compete in different categories, Slalom, and Giant Slalom, Championship event. Pakistan Air Force has international standard ski resort in Naltar and the Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP) every year organizes the Skiing Championship Trophy at Naltar.

 

This year the schedule was delayed due to less snowfall at Naltar, but from last week there is much snow. Naltar valley  is 2,880 meters, 47 Kilometer away and two hours drive from Gilgit via the west back of the Hunza River to Nomal village and from there northwest up to the Naltar. There is snow at Naltar till end of March and activities are Skiing, Snowball fighting, Snowman and snow castle building
