The fastest Eiger North Face, Swiss speed climber Ueli Steck, will be attempting to summit three 8000m mountains in one season, Shisapagma south face, Cho Oyu and Everest, all from the Tibet side. Ueli won the “Piolet d’Or” in 2005 for his extraordinary achievements in alpinism. Prior to his departure to Tibet he had successfully climbed Lhobuche and Cholatse with Freddie Wilkinson.  In the same expedition, Don Bowie from the USA  will also be attempting to summit the three peaks along with Ueli. Don has also climbed K2 and Ghasherbrum I. Niklas Hallstrom from Sweden will be attempting Shishapangma South Face and Everest in the same season with the same team. They are being supported at the base camp by Robert Frost from USA and Alfred Widmer from Switzerland .
The team left for the Chinese border on Sunday the 10th April. Asian Trekking family extends best wishes and best of luck.
