A big namaste to you all, from Nepal!
This is Turkish Climber Tunc Findik's first dispatch of Annapurna 2012
expedition. We are in Katmandu right now, had a week of preparations. We will
be moving to Annapurna region tomorrow, and will spend the night at Tatopani
before we move to Annapurna North Base Camp in the coming days.
We are a big group of many people and many nationalities that will share a
base camp for climbing Annapurna, by the 1950 French Route on the North Face.
I will be climbing on the mountain with my friends Guntis Brands (Swiss) and
Azim Geichisaz (Iran). We plan to establish 3 high camps beyond the base camp,
the highest being 7250 metres high.
For me, this is my 8th 8000 m summit. I am really very curious about this
upcoming climb, as much as the historical aspects as well as the difficulties
of terrain. I was wondering about Annapurna since I had eyed the mountain from
Dhaulagiri, the nearest 8000 m summit around Annapurna.
In the coming days i will be informing you further on progress on the
mountain. For this climb, I am grateful to my sponsors, first of all the
Turkish IT company INNOVA, and then my partners , Solgar, Globalstar Avrasya,
Unifo, CNN TURK, Isdestek, Suunto.
Great thanks and best wishes to all friends, followers and supporters.
