2007: Ama Dablam
Expedition Namche Bazar

Ama Dablam |
Dear Everestnews Readers,
Thank you for following the progress of our expedition. The team is now
in Namche Bazar at 3400m enjoying a rest day. Namche is the Sherpa
capital and has a permanent population of around 800. It's a awesome
place, precariously situated in a bowl on the side of a mountain, with
brilliant views of Kwande and Thamserku!
We enjoyed a fun night
last night. We met up with a trekking group from South Africa. They'd
just returned from Everest Basecasmp and were celebrating their success
in the Cafe Danfe Bar. Of course we felt obligated to join them....
Tomorrow we leave for
Pangboche at 3900m, after that, we will be switching to voice
dispatches, as there is no email access beyond Namche Bazar. Just click
on the link and listen to the voice file (EverestNews will show you how
and publish all the dispatches). We will attempt to send them every day
once we are in basecamp and on the mountain.
Thank you for following
our expedition, From Jay Reilly and Summitclimb.
