Sunset on
Shishapangma from Base Camp |
Dispatch Seven: Hello EverestNews.com, this is Arnold again
from the SummitClimb Shishapangma Expedition 2006. I'm calling right now from
Camp 2, 6,900 meters. This night we spent our first night in Camp 2. The
weather is nice tonight, but we don't feel very fit so today we will descend
to ABC. Our original plan was to follow the Japanese team in their slipstream
to reach for the summit, but for us it's a bit too fast because we are only
here for 12 days.
So we'll go down, have a good rest, and
the next few days climb up and we'll see if we have a chance for the summit.
By that time we'll be absolutely alone on Shishapangma. So I wonder how
that's going to feel. So, you will here from me again when I reach ABC. Bye
bye.
